Begin planning for the 40th Annual
WTEA Convention"
Pathways to Innovation"Chula Vista,
Wisconsin Dells - March 5th & 6th, 2009

Introduction:

The following document is the second draft of the course Entitled
"Foundations of Technology and Engineering". Edits to the second
draft are a result of comments received from Technology and Engineering
Educators across the State.

The curriculum outline is in draft format and is posted on this (WTEA)
website for your professional review. The subsequent draft is not to be
duplicated nor implemented into a classroom at this time. In the near
future this course may be presented to the state legislation for review.
The purpose of posting this draft is purely to obtain your professional
input. If this course were to be passed by the state, it will be
State-mandated and Standards-based. This means that the Technology and
Engineering infrastructure at your High School may have to amend it's
schedule in order to accommodate the requirements of this course. In
other words, you may have to give something up, and it will probably
have to be instituted within existing budgets. The class, however, is
NOT being promoted as a replacement for everything else we teach
in our departments. With the successful implementation of the course,
schools would be expected to maintain current teaching loads. The WTEA
appreciates your input and time commitment to the development of this
ongoing draft.
