Production Technology
Course Description: This course is designed to give teachers the background needed to successfully write curriculum and teach a broad-based high school manufacturing/production class. Topics discussed in this class include product design and development, production tooling, material management, automation, quality control, packaging, setting up a company, marketing, etc. During this class you will be involved in many interactive, hands on/minds on activities, which you can seamlessly incorporate into your existing curriculum. Come with a product idea and leave with a prototype, assembly directions, material lists, sketches, jigs, fixtures, packaging ideas, and accompanying student activities necessary develop a student-based enterprise in your school. This class is perfect for someone trying to change a traditional woodworking class into a contemporary, standards-based manufacturing class. Walk away from this class with lots of free merchandise to help set up your company (worksheets, books, product plans, clamps, etc.). We will also be taking tours of local industry and technical college institutes throughout the week. I am confident you will walk away extremely satisfied with this class!
