| From WTEA-WIS.ORG ITEA News The National Science Foundation has provided funding to establish a digital library that does not currently exist: a central source and comprehensive digital collection for technological literacy resources. The International Technology Education Association (ITEA) and the Eisenhower National Clearinghouse (ENC) are creating ICON,
ICON, or the Innovation Curriculum Online Network, is a central source for information dealing with technology and innovation. It serves as an electronic roadmap to connect users, such as teachers, professors, students, museum staff, and parents with information about the human built and innovated world. ICON also provides a broad and deep collection of technological literacy resources for teachers and educators, digital resources informed by educational and digital library standards, necessary descriptors, metadata, and developmentally-appropriate content for technological literacy support. ICON's collection is populated and classified according to the Standards for Technological Literacy.
